SBG was launched in 1970 as a surveying consultancy. Its concept was to help construction companies with difficult, quality-sensitive surveying. And SBG began developing software for managing and manipulating surveying data.
At the start, the software was only used in the company. But as the number of functions increased, more and more people became interested in using it. Then SBG started selling what is now called Geo. Today, Geo is a very powerful graphic and numeric tool.
During the 1980s, SBG linked its field calculators with digital instruments that were currently on the market. Different calculators were concurrently selected in parallel with market developments.
Pocket computers with DOS as the operating system formed the foundations for SBG's field computer software. This hardware-software combination is now called GeoPad.
Total stations were developed during the 1990s. With SBG's extensive experience from development of Geo and GeoPad, the next natural step was to automate machines. The result? The easily installed GeoROG, which has been in construction since 1995.
