The Geo point database module
Use this module to connect Geo to a general ODBC-compatible database, for example, Oracle-based database applications from Tekis (Topobase) or from Spatial Technology.

The module contains functions that enable advanced searches for points, by combining search terms. Users can also write their own SQL statements. Border polygons can be used to confine sets of points.

Users can save the database queries; this facilitates parsing the same points again on other occasions. Users can display optional columns from a table or view—depending on the database configuration. They can display points graphically and numerically.

Besides retrieving data, users can append, edit, and erase points in the database. These operations imply that the points are stored in a database table.

Transferring points between the database and coordinate files is very easy. The point database can, for example, be used as a source of known points during coordinate calculation.

Upgrading from Kartbas to Topobase
The module for point database replaces older versions of Kartbas in Geo. When renewing your Geo subscription, existing modules of Kartbas will be exchanged for point database modules. The price of the new database is the same as that for renewing other modules.
